"You Have the Right" Effective October 1, 2002, Florida Statute 553.791 allows the owner of a proposed building to use a Private Provider for building code inspections and plans review services for compliance with the Florida Building Code. The Statute allows the private provider to perform these services on the building that are covered by that person's licencure as to the structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and accessibility components of the building. EMA will review the plans for compliance with the Florida Building Code for the Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Building Disciplines.
